Is chiropractor a respected profession?

Chiropractors are highly respected by the public. Chiropractors are not doctors, but rather a type of licensed health care professional. Their treatments are usually safe, but they may not be right for everyone. There were differences between chiropractors with 11 years or more of experience compared to chiropractors with less than 11 years of experience.

Because chiropractors provide holistic, non-prescriptive care, many people turn to them as an alternative or complement to other forms of treatment. All U.S. jurisdictions require chiropractors to obtain a doctor of chiropractic degree from a university accredited by the Chiropractic Education Council (CCE). Chiropractors also diagnose various musculoskeletal conditions and can provide physical therapy to help patients maintain long-term health.

Respondents believe that the best aspects of being a chiropractor are that chiropractors can reduce pain, help move or build strength, patient flexibility and power. Two of the authors (BW and AB) prepared a draft survey on the “best aspects” of being a chiropractor using their personal experience and exhausting logical possibilities. As more insurance companies cover chiropractic treatment, the services that chiropractors offer are also becoming more accessible. We used a convenience sample released by Chiropractic Australia and the closed private Facebook group “Evidence-Based Chiropractors” in Canada.

Therefore, the main objective of this study was to determine the best aspects of being a chiropractor from the perspective of Professionals. Chiropractors must complete several highly specific educational requirements before they are eligible to become licensed. Chiropractors use manual manipulations to realign joints and alleviate discomfort caused by a wide range of causes. While chiropractors are widely known for treating back and neck pain, they also treat bone and soft tissue conditions.

This could have led to a sub-sample of chiropractors being asked to participate in the survey and who held certain philosophical viewpoints that might have influenced the results.
