Chiropractic researchers have documented that fraud, abuse and quackery are more common in chiropractic than in other health professions. Neck pain can present as mild discomfort or severe, persistent pain that can be disabling. Because neck pain is often a symptom, a licensed chiropractor will identify the underlying cause and strive to address it through adjustments, physical therapy, and moderate exercise, all of which can positively affect nerves, ligaments, and the blood supply to the head and shoulder area. Restoring the correct function of the vertebrae in the neck and shoulder area helps to relieve spasms muscular.
According to The Good Body, 46% of all chiropractic patients seek treatment because of back pain. Spondylosis, a word used to describe spinal degeneration caused by regular wear and tear on your joints and discs, is often related to low back pain. Spondylolisthesis, a traumatic injury, spinal stenosis, sciatica, herniated discs, and sprains and strains are other common causes of low back pain. The pain may appear as a tingling sensation, stinging, burning, or pain.
A chiropractor can help alleviate this pain with their specialized treatments. Chiropractic treatment is quite effective in relieving pain associated with TMJ, helping to relax muscles, adjust joints and precisely reposition the jaw using trigger point therapy. With these treatments, jaw joint movement can improve and symptoms such as ear pain, jaw blockage, neck pain, and headache can be alleviated. It is a condition characterized by widespread musculoskeletal pain and other symptoms, such as fatigue and problems with sleep, mood and memory.
Women, mostly between the ages of 25 and 50, are more likely to develop fibromyalgia. Under these conditions, all 18 trigger points become painful and sensitive. Chiropractic treatment aims to improve circulation and restore skeletal alignment, as well as nervous system functions. Combinations of chiropractic treatment, massage therapy, medications and acupuncture help in severe cases.
Nearly 80% of Americans experience low back pain at some point in their lives. Low back pain, in most cases, is associated with spondylosis, a term that refers to spinal degeneration caused by the normal wear and tear that occurs on the joints and discs of the spine as people age. Other causes of low back pain include sprains and strains, herniated discs, sciatica, spinal stenosis, traumatic injuries, and spondylolisthesis. At Oasis, we will provide immediate treatment for low back pain through physiotherapy and manipulation exercises.
Low back pain, neck pain, and headaches are the most common reasons people seek chiropractic adjustments. In many cases, such as low back pain, chiropractic care may be a person's primary method of treatment. For some medical conditions, chiropractic services can complement or support medical treatment by alleviating the musculoskeletal aspects associated with the condition. However, as you may have read or heard for yourself, some people consider chiropractic it's a form of pseudoscience.
The search strategy located 28 articles that reported a total of 32 case reports (Tables 1 and 2). In 22 cases (published in 20 articles), the therapists were chiropractors (table 9 to 28), while in 10 cases (published in nine articles) they were other health professionals (table). The patients were mostly young, healthy people treated for benign, self-limiting conditions, such as neck pain or headache. There was no clear overrepresentation of one sex over another. Vertebral artery dissection was the most common problem; other complications included dural tear, edema, nerve injury, herniated disc, hematoma and bone fracture.
Often, the symptoms were life threatening, although in most cases the patient recovered completely. In most cases, spinal manipulation was considered to be the probable cause of the adverse effect. One of the most common and well-known therapeutic procedures performed by chiropractors is spinal manipulation (sometimes referred to as “chiropractic adjustment”), although this technique also it is used by osteopaths and physiotherapists).
